The "Good Wife" - are you chic at work?

When do you know you are obsessed with a show on TV?  When I have to watch it every night I know I am. That’s where I am at right now with "The Good Wife".  I developed a kind of curiosity of what the  female  characters wear and their accessories. It is interesting to watch how Daniel Lawson developed the looks for each character, including the jewelry they wear and it is amazing how much thought goes into the jewelry on this show, even for the background players. I admit I am a fan of this show so I love seeing the different female characters and their very distinct styles. They all work in a law firm which is known not as the most creative place of fashion and yet all manage to look stylish and individualistic, as well as professional. Alicia Florrick, a politician’s wife played by  Julianna Margulies, going back to work after a long break. While her husband is in prison, she is rediscovering her individual identity.  At the law firm, she...

Can Jewelry solve any problems?

Can Jewelry solve any problems?   Yes, jewelery can solve problems!  let me tell you how... Many times I asked myself why ladies like jewelry,  why is it important for some and not so  for others..... A first-timer’s guide: how to buy jewelry on Etsy

Did you know that Etsy is a great place to look at handmade and vintage jewelry?  I would like to give you some tips about buying on Etsy since I am an Etsy seller and I have a shop on line.  Etsy is an online marketplace where people can sell things handmade things, vintage things, anything, really. You do have to be careful... don’t forget that anyone can sign up to sell on Etsy, and you’ll never really know what you’re getting it until you hold it in your hand. There is lots of stuff for sale on Etsy and you have to scroll through it to get to the treasures - but the treasures are worth it, and the hurt is part of the fun. Use always keywords to narrow down the search when you’re looking for something specific ("multi strands brown beaded necklace” is better than "brown beaded necklace").  You can use the category filters on the right-hand side to limit your results – for example, you can choose to see only vintage items, and from those ...

How to clean your jewelry and keep it like new

If you have rings you haven’t taken off in a while or necklaces you may notice they’ve lost their sparkle because of soap, hand lotion or dust which leave a film that dulls the sparkle of gemstones, and sterling silver gets black, it is time to do something about it. Should you go to your jewelry store? I don’t think so, it is not that difficult to do it yourself. Here are some easy, do-it-yourself tips that I apply myself on my jewelry. Cleaning diamonds Diamond can lose some of its gorgeous shine if it’s not regularly cleaned. The best mixture of cleaning solution for diamonds is ammonia or mild dish detergent with water. The ratio of this solution should be a quarter cup of ammonia to one cup of lukewarm water. After mixing the solution, simply let the piece of diamond jewelry soak in the solution for 20-30 minutes. Once this time is complete, gently brush the jewelry with a soft toothbrush. Make sure to avoid brushing the diamond too vigorously so it doesn’t move from its ...
