Have an Elegant & Chic Christmas

‘Tis the season to be jolly, and invitations to attend various festivities are likely arriving thick and fast.  It can be extremely tempting at this time of year to go a little OTT with our outfits and think we need to wear all of the sparkle (in our clothes and accessories) all at the same time!  But true elegance is always more understated.  Showcase Your Gown or Accessories – Not Both! Alice + Olivia If you have a stunning shimmering gown let that take centre stage by accompanying it with some beautiful but simple earrings – less is most definitely more with accessories when it comes to a knockout dress.  With a gown that’s more paired back and Ronit Ziswiler understated in its elegance, don’t be afraid to go bold with an eye-catching statement necklace to make the look pop!  The golden rule here is that it’s either the gown or the jewellery that needs to do the talking – not both! The Power of a Morning Routine

There’s so much talk these days in the business and personal development world about the power of a morning routine. It is said that the way we start each day has a huge bearing on how our day will unfold. And I must say I totally agree!  For instance, if you keep hitting the snooze button and get out of bed at the last minute, then rush to wash and throw on some clothes and grab food to eat as you run out the door, then low and behold your day will more than likely pan out to be rushed, chaotic and leave you feeling more at the mercy of it rather than as the master of it. However, when you take time to start the day with some positive routines and rituals, your day has a feeling of clarity, purpose and energy about it. Creating a Morning Routine What your morning routine consists of needs to be personalised to you, so that you feel excited to wake in the morning and dive into your 'you time'. The only requirement is that it consists of activities that are positive and

Autumn Winter 2019/20 trend

Strutting off the fashion week catwalks and into the stores, the main message for Autumn/Winter 2019 is elegance, elegance, elegance! Timeless trench coats and bold colour blocking appear throughout many of the major designers’ collections. Skirts and coats are cut to just below the knee to elongate the body with a feminine and flattering silhouette, and neck scarves add a pop of colour and interest. Leather is also back in a big way! The pairing of leather jackets and boots with flared skirts to the knee, twists a classic chic look into something a little more edgy and cool. With such an effortlessly elegant Autumn/Winter style, the simplicity of cuts and colour blocking allows you to be bolder with your accessories. The natural beauty of horn, combined with the edginess of leather, creates the perfect accompaniment to this look. Think chunky links, multiple strands and long pendant pieces when you want to make a statement that elevates an elegant outfit to the next level.

The "Good Wife" - are you chic at work?

When do you know you are obsessed with a show on TV?  When I have to watch it every night I know I am. That’s where I am at right now with "The Good Wife".  I developed a kind of curiosity of what the  female  characters wear and their accessories. It is interesting to watch how Daniel Lawson developed the looks for each character, including the jewelry they wear and it is amazing how much thought goes into the jewelry on this show, even for the background players. I admit I am a fan of this show so I love seeing the different female characters and their very distinct styles. They all work in a law firm which is known not as the most creative place of fashion and yet all manage to look stylish and individualistic, as well as professional. Alicia Florrick, a politician’s wife played by  Julianna Margulies, going back to work after a long break. While her husband is in prison, she is rediscovering her individual identity.  At the law firm, she dresses elegantly

Can Jewelry solve any problems?

Can Jewelry solve any problems?   Yes, jewelery can solve problems!  let me tell you how... Many times I asked myself why ladies like jewelry,  why is it important for some and not so  for others..... Why do we wear jewelry?  There are a few problems and here are the solutions. 1.   No confidence We all know that new hair style, new dress and new jewelry make us, women, feel more confident. In  some companies we feel sometimes that men can take over or even when we wear business  attire that doesnt look very feminine, we feel like we are losing our feminity. So in order to feel more feminine, wear some beautiful jewelry! or even better,  wear jewelry  that symbolizes femininity.   double strand pearl necklace 2. Bought a new dress , but without jewelry you kind of look naked? Oh well, you know what you have to do! Add a statement necklace! statement long horn necklace pendants horn necklace 3. A first-timer’s guide: how to buy jewelry on Etsy

Did you know that Etsy is a great place to look at handmade and vintage jewelry?  I would like to give you some tips about buying on Etsy since I am an Etsy seller and I have a shop on line.  Etsy is an online marketplace where people can sell things handmade things, vintage things, anything, really. You do have to be careful... don’t forget that anyone can sign up to sell on Etsy, and you’ll never really know what you’re getting it until you hold it in your hand. There is lots of stuff for sale on Etsy and you have to scroll through it to get to the treasures - but the treasures are worth it, and the hurt is part of the fun. Use always keywords to narrow down the search when you’re looking for something specific ("multi strands brown beaded necklace” is better than "brown beaded necklace").  You can use the category filters on the right-hand side to limit your results – for example, you can choose to see only vintage items, and from those results you co
