Have an Elegant & Chic Christmas

‘Tis the season to be jolly, and invitations to attend various festivities are likely arriving thick and fast.

It can be extremely tempting at this time of year to go a little OTT with our outfits and think we need to wear all of the sparkle (in our clothes and accessories) all at the same time!

But true elegance is always more understated.

Showcase Your Gown or Accessories – Not Both!

Alice + Olivia
If you have a stunning shimmering gown let that take centre stage by accompanying it with some beautiful but simple earrings – less is most definitely more with accessories when it comes to a knockout dress.

With a gown that’s more paired back and

understated in its elegance, don’t be afraid to go bold with an eye-catching statement necklace to make the look pop!

The golden rule here is that it’s either the gown or the jewellery that needs to do the talking – not both!

Choose Colour Combinations Wisely

Boden
Here in Switzerland red and green aren’t seen as traditional Christmas colours the same way they are in many other countries. However if they’re colours you are particularly drawn to at this time of year, my recommendation is to choose one at a time – after all we don’t want you rocking up to a fabulous event looking like a Christmas tree!

For example a beautiful red or green dress with a statement necklace looks both chic and festive. Or if dresses aren’t your thing, how about some gorgeous red satin trousers paired with a silk shirt. The combination of luxurious fabrics look incredibly feminine and give a festive shimmer to your outfit.

Black with gold accessories is a timeless look that never fails to ooze elegance, and you can generally afford to go big and bold with the jewellery you choose.

New Year Glamour

Versace
New Year parties are the time to sexy things up a bit - be mindful not to cross the line into trashy though, we’re looking for chic, classy sexy here.

Again the same rules apply – don’t go overboard, keep things soft and sultry with your outfit and accessories so that your look is intriguing and alluring. A touch of shimmer here and some soft movement there with your jewellery is sure to get you noticed as you dance the night away.

Whatever the occasion this Christmas, I have a stunning selection of jewellery in my online shop that will beautifully enhance any look you’re creating.
